I am looking for a puppy French bulldog to buy and I can’t seem to find any breeders in or around my area. I was wondering if it would be morally wrong to buy a pup from somewhere in the US and ship it to Montreal. I heard that some puppies die in the cargo area of planes because it gets very cold. Does anyone know if it’s safe to ship puppies and if there are any French Bulldog breeders in my area?

In the US, the breed is called Bulldog. They are expensive because 80-95% of the puppies are delivered via c-section. This surgery can be expensive.

In addition, most Bulldog females need to be artificially inseminated. The cost to do this increases the price of the dog.

Most well-bred puppies of other breeds from proper breeders are $750-$1500. Bulldogs are more expensive to breed & maintain, hence the increased price for them.

I don’t want a puppy mill dog! How do you verify were the puppy came from?

Pet stores in my area have been getting busted left and right for dealing with puppy mills. I don’t want to contribute to that kind of activity.

Never buy a puppy from a pet store – these are mostly puppy milll dogs.

If you are getting a purebred dog, check the breeder. Reputable breeders are listed with the American Kennel Club, will ask you to complete a multi-page questionnaire, and will also interview you in detail to determine that you are a good home for their dog. They should be willing to answer any questions you have, and provide any documentation on the dog’s parents and lineage that you request.

Hmmm… you should consider adoption at your budget…there are many wonderful dogs at petfinder.com that are very sweet…I hope you realize that after you get the dog, there will be lots of fees…vet bills, supplies….e.t.c. If your budget for the whole thing is 500, you should consider a different pet (goldfish, bird, hamster?) But if you are committed and have the budget, puppyfind.com us great for finding breeders, although there are non-reputable breeeders on there too…You have to spend a lot of time looking for a good breeder, you can’t just find one in the ads that is real cheap and then buy the dog. I hope you did your homework! If you really stick to it, I know you can find your perfect puppy!

am i suppose to start them on their shots? and anything else i should know?

You give them one shot before you sell them and the owner will give them the other shot, i suggest that you feed them lacteal about 2 or three weeks before you give them away because lactol will build up the puppies immune system and bones and make them stronger lacteol is like powdered babies milk but it is specifically made for puppies. don’t give your puppies away before 10 weeks because they will not be strong enough to give away before then, it can also develop behavioral problems if you give them away to early.

there is no such breed as a tea cup its just the runt of a poorly bred litter check out your local shelter

My puppies are 11 weeks old and are in excellent health. Parents are both AKC and are on premises. I live in Colorado Springs, CO.

U can also make printable flyers and post them up in laundry mats,apartment complexes,on street poles etc. Make sure u leave a phone number where u can be contacted at or an email adress when posting online. Most of these puppies and dogs have been house and obedience trained already, and you don’t have to worry about doing all that yourself. Puppies don’t stay puppies forever, they grow up into big pets, and pets are a long commitment and not just a temporary Christmas present that you give away when you become tired of it.
If you get a Golden at a shelter, you’ll be saving a life and money too.
