french bulldog puppies?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

I am interested in getting a french bull dog, but first I need to
know about them, where can I get information about the breed
and health problems they may have.

I would not rely on any published information. As a French Bulldog owner I usually get a kick out of the incorrect information about the breed in dog articles and breed books.

Make sure you read the AKC standard for Frenchies very well so you know what the should possess. Any frenchie you buy should be ONLY AKC, it is not fool proof, but it is by far the safest registry.

There are 2 groups you should join to learn about Frenchies:
http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/Friends-Of-Frenchies/
http://www.frenchbulldogworldwide.com

I am on both, this is the best way to learn about the breed, from others who actually have them. Both groups are VERY friendly!

Also go to an AKC dog show to see them in person!

Things to remember when you go looking for puppies:
They should ALWAYS see straight! When they are looking straight at you, all you should see is the black of their eyes, NEVER any white or pink should show in the center near the nose bridge! They should never have buggy eyes either. They should not have a muzzle, their face should be flat.

They should be healthy looking and happy, eyes and nose should be clear and not irritated looking. Make sure the puppies look well groomed, if they do not take the time to clip their nails and clean their coat, they won’t have time or the concern enough to breed healthy dogs either!

Frenchies are a natural breed, their tails are very short and the ears stand up. This is all natural, they should never be cropped or docked! They will be born with little bear-like ears that will grow and flop over, then eventually stand upright how they will for it’s life time.

People say Frenchies have a hard time breathing, and other things. This is WRONG. Just like any breed there are unhealthy specimens. This is from poor breeding and usually the product of breeding 2 dogs that are not healthy themselves. French Bulldogs should be healthy and should breath without problems or noise.

Features of the head are very strong with breedings. For example if one of the parents has an awful jaw… the puppies will too. Keep that in mind.

Do not look for available puppies on-line by just searching, this will usually only lead you to what you should not be buying. If they are advertising at the top of your search, don’t even bother clicking, they are JUST looking to make a buck off you, not to provide you with a healthy pet!

If they accept Pay-pal or the site looks like a virtual vending machine for puppies, RUN! If Frenchies are one of a handful of breeds they offer, RUN! If they also offer designer dogs of any kind, RUN!

Never buy puppies on puppyfind, I cannot count the number of people who "bought" a puppy and never received it, that site is for scammers and sellers of sick puppies.

Never buy a puppy from a broker (a person who buys litters of puppies and resells them for more $ to just make a profit) They are only able to buy poorly bred puppies like this, so that is what they will provide you with, poorly bred puppies!

NEVER buy puppies from pet stores! They come from puppymills. And if you ask the store if they buy their puppies from puppymills they will say absolutely NOT. They have planned on you asking this, so they use a middle man who buys the puppies from the puppymills for them, so they can legally state that they do not buy from puppymills, because… they technically bought them from the middle man!

Puppies are a business for many stores and people. They plan on covering their rear or they do not make money. So it can be hard to see though the bad ones, because they work on looking right.

english bulldog..?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

my fiance and i are currently looking to get another english bulldog, but cannot find any decent websites. does any one know of any breeders/website that may have available english bulldog puppies for sale? we would like a very wrinkly one (they are so cute..) anything will help. thanks so much.
no one really answered my question. i didnt ask wether or not i should adopt. i already bought 3 from my previous breeder but she has since went to a better place and i was asking if anyone knew of any breeders. but thanks anyways even tho is was worthless..

Please consider adoption. http://www.petfinder.com are sure to have Bulldogs up for adoption at a very low adoption fee. If you don’t decide to adopt, you will need to find a very reputable breeder who tests dogs of congenital (hereditary/genetic) diseases. http://www.akc.org is bound to have a couple of reputable and ethical breeders listed. As Bulldogs usually need to be delivered via c-section, prices are going to be high (from a breeder) and availability will be low so you aren’t going to be getting a pup from a breeder any time soon – you will be placed on a waiting list.

What breed was the puppy spencer held on icarly in the episode irocked the vote?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

So i was watching icarly one time and spencer brought in this puppy into the icarly studio while wade collins first started shooting his video and told gibb(l)y to turn of the music, and I just wanted to know what breed the puppy was. Please Help answer! I really want a puppy just like it!
Its fur was an orangey shade.

It looked like a golden retriever puppy.
They are very soft and cuddly like the one you saw. Very Cute.

is there a website that sell pomeranian puppies and ship them to the uk?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

i have been trying to get a pom but the only pom pups that appeal to me are the united states puppies and i dont live in the us

Those people who i know purchase a dog from outside the UK always go over to the relevant country to see the pups and parents and choose their pup. They then collect the pup when its old enough and all the pet passports have been sorted out.
You can’t guarentee the quality of the pup and its health from buying from a website and having one shipped from the US.
Try speaking to some UK breeders about what you like about the US pom’s they may know of a breeder over here that breeds them that your not aware of or they may even be able to help you in purchasing a pup form a reputable breeder in the US..
Good luck and please seek advice from UK breeders first before heading out to the states for one..

Do pug puppies coats’ lighten as they age?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Our 1-wk old pug puppies were just born and we’ve noticed that their coats are a whole lot darker than we expected them to be. Their parents are a very light fawn but they are almost a caramel color. Will their fur lighten up as they get older?

How much do Teacup Maltese puppies run for?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

I saw an add in the paper and the lady told me she will accept best offer so I told her I would call her back because I don’t know how much they really are so I didn’t want to give her a price that is ridiculously low because she will think I am retarded or too high of a price because then she will take advantage! Please help!

There is no such thing as a Teacup but is is a descriptive word to describe a pup and I personally have no problem with it as long as the breeder is doing her breeding ethnically. Who cares if a person uses a word that they know will grab attention? At the end of the day, the breeder will be charging the same price regardless of what they call the dog.

It really depends on the area you are at. Are you in a large city? Maybe small town?

If you live in a large city? Possibly $600-$2000.
In a small town? Possibly $300-$1000

If a breeder isn’t offering anything, just the puppy. I wouldn’t offer more than $1000

It also depends on what else is included with the puppy. Does it come with a puppy package? A health guarantee (just in case it develops a health problem in the near future)? Does she test her dogs? How big will the dog get? Papers? Etc.

Many people believe the small dogs develops more health problems but that is a bunch of bull. It depends on the steps the breeder takes to insure she is breeding a line with no health problems. And if the lines are genetically small. I have seen more larger dogs develop health problems pertaining to their hips, head, and heart then I do toy dogs that grow to be 2-4lbs as an adult.

health problems doesn’t happen because the dog grows up small. It happens because of bad genetic breeding and accidents. When everyone say the x-small ones will develop health problems, people will start to believe the normal size doesn’t when that is far from the case. ALL DOGS DEVELOPS HEALTH PROBLEMS!!! It’s all in the genetics.

People are trying hard to share knowledge on the subject of teacups, when that’s all they heard (teacups develop health problems). They don’t hear nothing else about the smaller ones so they aren’t able to say more. They don’t even try to spend 10 minutes to see why a certain pup became ill.

Most people are ignorant on the other aspects of the x-tiny puppy and toy dogs. So everyone needs to keep quiet unless they can give a detailed report on health problems and not just throwing out that phrase.

If anyone has a question… Email me. creamdonut89(at)yahoo.com

I forgot to say.. If she is saying ‘Best Offer’ then she is probably just trying to make a quick buck and probably doesn’t care about the well being of the dog, so I would run quick from that ad and look elsewhere.

Are Maltese puppies act normal around other dogs, behaviorally?

What is a good website to advertise puppies for sale without comprimising their safety?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

They are 6 week old miniature longhair Dachshunds. there are 3 males, 2 are dapples (one has a georgous blue eye that’ll melt your heart!)and the 3rd puppy is black and Tan… beautiful…I can’t keep them because we have their Mama and a sister… We have flyers in town… other suggestions welcomed…
These little beauties are CKC registered, and we have money invested to be sure they are in the best of health and up to date on shots, etc. I can’t afford to give them away, but want really good homes for them to grow up in and be loved and cared for as I would if they could stay here with us. We live in the south.. in AL. I"m only asking $350. for 2 of them, and $350. for the very unique one.. I think this is reasonable. You surely can’t MAKE money raising pups, with only 1 Mom to breed, that’s for sure! I only need to have a return on our investment in these lovely puppies. As advised, I’ll advertise in our local paper this week, and see the results! Thanks for your suggestions! God Bless you!
OOPS, make that $450. for the unique one with the bright blue eye! ( I major in typos) lol

Well go to puppyfind.com and click "List a Puppy." Fill out the form and make a username & password. I don’t know how much of the profit you get. :(
