French Bulldogs usually have to be bred with artificial insemination and the puppies whelped by caesarian section. The litters are small and because of the huge expense of bringing them into the world, no ones really giving away Frenchie puppies.
If you can’t afford a well-bred dog, then find the closest breed rescue.

You can’t, French bulldogs will always be expensive because the mothers require surgery to give birth which is expensive.

There are no cheap French Bulldogs. They are almost all conceived by artificial insemination and born by c-section, so they start out high-priced to cover expenses.
Try a rescue; their donations may be lower.

French Bulldogs are expensive because of the medical costs associated with their breeding such as the C-section (because of their wide heads), as well as the artificial insemination. Because of their build, it’s difficult for them to both breed and whelp naturally. So unless you go through a breed rescue, you won’t find one at a cheap price.

The other respondents pretty much told you about artificial insemination and caesareans, but there are far more reasons…
French Bulldogs tend to cost upwards of $2500.00, and for the really well bred dogs from ethical hobby breeders, one could easily spend $3000 to $3500, or even more.
Because they’re a dwarfed breed and are so compact, they can be prone to spinal problems… Backyard breeders and puppy millers that don’t have X-rays certified by OFA or PENN/HIP can produce dogs prone to hemivertebrae, IVDD, arthritis, spina bifida, etc. and you can wind up with a dog with severe spinal problems or worse, paralysis…
They’re brachycephalic and because they can have elongated soft palates and / or pinched stenotic nares, you should be aware of the cost of corrective surgery in your area should the need ever arise.
They can also have eye problems, which is why you should only deal with a breeder that has her dogs CERF-certified… Dogs can be prone to ocular occlusions, dry eyes (kerastitis), cataracts, etc.
Their facial folds and ears require special care and knowing how to clean them… If they have a corkscrew tail, you’ll also need to know how to clean it.
Most of the French Bulldogs found today are pretty poor examples of the breed and allergies are rampant. You can certainly buy a so-called "cheap" dog from any backyard breeder, but then you should also be prepared to spend thousands of dollars in that pet’s care… Allergies can manifest themselves between the ages of 6 months to 4 years… Osteo or spinal problems can develop from 2 to 4 years, unless a puppy has severe IVDD that is undetectable to the naked eye (none of us has X-ray vision after all)… Dogs can suffer urinary tract infections or incontinence after spayings or other procedures…
So keep searching for a cheap dog, if that’s really what you want, but it’ll probably cost you a great deal emotionally and financially in the long run.
Good luck in your endeavors : )

you should not attempt to buy a "cheap" frenchie puppy. find a good breeder first, wait for your pup while you save up the money, otherwise you’ll pay the difference in vet bills. and, speaking of vet bills, if you can’t afford a frenchie pup in the $2500 to $3500 price range, you will not be able to afford the care that can come with a french bulldog.
