I have been looking for a puppy but there is not many places very close they are al at least 4 states away.

Go to your local animal shelter. They have lots of nice pups that need a good home. You will be saving a life and making a friend that will love you back.

Is it petsmart or is it just easier to say petsmart when you say a dog store? Just curious… I know up north where I used to live everyplace used to be Petland even if it had a different name…

You aren’t imagining things. There are a few users on this site who insist that Petsmart sells puppies. They do not, but these users just don’t seem to get it when they are corrected. You will likely see it again!

I live in Melbourne, Australia (VICTORIA) and I am interested in buying a Labrador Retriever puppy. I have looked through the newspaper and online but can’t find any from REPUTABLE breeders with litters that will be ready soon (within the next few weeks).

I am trying to get a purebred puppy. Female – golden. My price range is a little limited ( $250 – $650 ).

I have looked at the 2 local RSPCA adoption centres for Lab (puppies) but couldn’t find one. The only one I found was an (overweight) 6-8 year old golden Labrador Retriever.

I would appreciate any answers I get and I would be willing to check out websites of yours, or someone you know, who breeds Labs.

Now if you can offer a wonderful forever home, many breeders will work with you and take payments. I would think though that $500-650 would get you a very nice pet puppy from a repuatble breeder.

Breeders like that very rarely advertise online or in newspapes. In fact in 43 years in dogs, I’m hardpressed to think of ANY who advertise in newpapers. General web searches just don’t really return the website of the really good breeders – the sites are mostly to boast about their dogs and they don’t put the money into web site developement and search engine optimazation studies. You have to actually type in their kennel name 99% of the time.

I’m lookng for a new puppy and I don’t know what kid of puppy I want at the moment. I need something that is good for apartment life and I think I want a mixed dog but I’m not sure so let me some sites please because everywhere I go I can’t find anything.

i have eight 7 week old american bulldog puppies for sale, they really are top quality pups, we thouhgt that only 8 or 9 would arrive but she gave birth to 16, any ideas on the best way to sell them, or were to sell them. THANKS.

You’ll want to get the word out somehow, either by setting up a web-site or advertising. However, you’ll want to have an application process in place as you don’t want to sell your puppies to just anyone who answers an ad.

Be prepared to interview those who are interested. Be sure that they are educated on the breed (not for first time dog owners). If possible, visit their home to see the environment. I always call short notice to see if I can stop by, so they’ll not be prepared. I also deliver the puppies if possible, so I can see how it interacts in it’s new home.

It’s sad that you waited until they were 7 weeks old to begin planning, but you’ll want to temperament test the pups to ensure you match the right pup with the right owner. I have people who are disappointed that they don’t get to pick out their puppy, but I’d rather they have a dog that will fit in with their lifestyle rather than their decor.

The important thing is that you ensure that the puppies go to appropriate homes, not how you find these homes. You’ll want to research the new owners thoroughly.

I want on that will be light in color, raised indoors and ready to go to a new home in December.

Most of these puppies and dogs have been house and obedience trained already, and you don’t have to worry about doing all that yourself. Puppies don’t stay puppies forever, they grow up into big pets, and pets are a long commitment and not just a temporary Christmas present that you give away when you become tired of it.
If you get a Golden at a shelter, you’ll be saving a life and money too.
