What is the average cost of a teacup pomeranian?

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

duz anyone kno? ifu have know how much other teacup puppies cost that would be helpful too. :)

Um… the initial cost or the cost of the vet bills trying to keep it alive when the health issues crop up? Or the emotional cost when it dies before it’s two years old due to those health issues? Or the cost to rescue the abandoned, sickly dogs when the irresponsible and unethical breeder produces another hundred pups with the same problem to meet the demand created by folks who buy their poorly bred pups?

Poms are a toy breed, they are already small. Any breeder who advertises "teacup" sizes is either not breeding to the standard or is lying to make a profit. Get your Pom from a responsible breeder or rescue found through http://www.americanpomeranianclub.org/ .

HOW can I TRAIN teacup puppies (couple months) to be COOL with BIG dogs??? Getting a GERMAN SHEPHERD?

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Hi,

Im getting a Shih Tzu and I really want it to be cool with bigger dogs, because once our new house is finished being built (4-5months) then I want to get my DREAM german Shepherd. ha ha I’ve been wanting one for 5years!!

Anyways, I was thinking about bringing the puppy, I’m PLANNINg on getting soon lol to a local kennel where I volunteer and they train the dogs for our local police. They have German Shepperd’s of all ages there and do you think socialized my puppy there with big dogs will help him/her be comfortable them?

Thanks for any advice, its greatly appreciated?

I have a POM and a YORKIE to lol but they are fine with big dogs, because my neighbour had a Golden Retriever. My friend sadly moved away ={ and I really want my new puppy to be cool with big dogs.

PS_ I know there are no SUCH things as teacups, I’m just referring to the size of them. My puppies are tiny, really healthy but just tiny ♥

I am a yorkie-poo breeder and our little puppies that we breed are just fine with my bull mastiff/ great perenise mix (in fact, they hang off of his tail and bite his lips!) You just have to supervise the first few times that they are together. and make sure that you get one reccomended for multiple dog homes!

Can a teacup puppy or dog be akc certified?

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

so this guy told me that teacup puppies cant be akc certified… is that true? I want to get a maltese puppy teacup so i want to know if it can be akc certified.

You could certainly get a maltese that is labelled as a "teacup" registered, but it wouldn’t say "teacup" on the paperwork as teacup dogs do not exist.

If only you could see just what is behind the word "teacup" and what is being done to achieve smaller and smaller dogs, and some of the deformities that are happening because of it.

Please take a read of this.

Why do some dog breed websites promote those teacup, micro puppies ect?

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

I know for a fact a teacup and micro are NOT healthy,
Teacups are smaller then akc standard and micros are even smaller then teacups!

i know they have a short lifespan-Normally less then 1 year and i know they are bred by Irresponsible breeders for MEGA dollars,

what other problems can micros and teacup dogs have?

So how can we stop dog breed website promoting these teacup and micros etc

How can we stop irresponsible breeders breeding teacups and micros?

http://www.aseanpuppy.com/2008/puppy-health-and-veterinary/i-was-wondering-if-teacup-puppy-will-have-more-health-problems-than-a-normal-sized-dog/#respond

The truth on teacups and micros, this is only a few of the breeds that irresponsible breeder try and make tiny creatures for the cuteness factor.

http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/maltese.html
http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/yorkshireterriers.html

Why do they breed them?
Because they are greedy, couldn’t care less what they sell as long as they get money and because stupid people continue to buy them.

These animals are just commodities to sell by people who should NEVER be called breeders and there is no thought for the animals health or welfare.

teacup puppies fort lauderdale?

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Does anyone know where I can buy a teacup puppy (yorkie or maltese preferably) in the fort lauderdale/ miami/ boca area? Possibly at a reasonable price. I don’t even know where to look.
I know there are "technically" no such things as "teacup" puppies. but people do sell them and they are small (under 4 lbs)
i’m not interested in people telling me that i shouldnt buy a "teacup" dog. I live in a small apartment and its all i can have so leave me alone
and if i wanted a different dog or to adopt one, i wouldnt be looking for someone selling a teacup dog
everyone needs to chill out. ive read and know everything you do. still doesnt mean that i dont want one

ETA:Sorry, if you knew everything that I knew you wouldn’t want to buy a backyard breeder scum puppies. Majority the toy breeds are 7 pounds or under, that is small as it is! If your apartment says the dog has to be under 4 pounds…then that’s bull. No reputable breeder breeds " tea cups". The backyard breeders the ones that breeds "tea cups" do not do any GENETIC testing. And they are not cheap either! Though if you insist on a poorly bad bred genetically sickly "tea cup" look in your classifieds for one. They are bound to be some backyard breeders that breed them. Just be prepared for a few thousand dollars in veterinarian bills later down the road though. Teacups that weigh 4 pounds…are nothing special many of the toy group is 4-6 pounds preferably…anyway. Fall for a scam and learn the hard way. You do NOT want a tea cup! Well if you want a pup that lives only a few years, tons of health issues and $$$ in veterinarian bills then maybe its the dog for you.

Tea cups at reasonable price. I don’t think a such of a thing exist. See people that use the term "tea cup" are not cheap. They overcharge for runts and their dogs. The yorkie standard is 7 pounds and under. So a " 3 pound tea cup yorkie" is WITHIN the breed standard! These breeders make them seem special when they are not. Some purposely breed the runts to runts to produce a more smaller dog which is NOT healthy. Now almost every litter has a "runt’. But these breeders purposefully breed for the smallest dog possible, the smaller they are the more health problems and behavioral issues they might have. Some of these so called ‘tea cups" are not supposed to exceed oh say 4 pounds at adulthood- according to their breeders- but at adulthood you have a 6 or 7 pound yorkie. The preferred size of the yorkie is 4-6 pounds. When anyone advertises for " tea cups" they ALMOST always have a puppy in a giant tea cup! The thing is most of the small breeds as puppies can fit in a giant tea cup! Nothing special there. And do you really think at maturity that "tea cup" puppy will still be able to fit in a giant tea cup like in the pictures? No. If its not a tea cup, its a pup standing against a coca cola can or something. It’s a marketing ploy, don’t fall for it.
My yorkie stands a bit taller then a coca can and he was a runt of his litter, his breeder didn’t advertise him as a ‘ tea cup"though. She was a reputable breeder.
Here are yorkies listed in the Fort Lauderdale area:

Miami:

Boca:

Paying the adoption fee at a shelter will be the most reasonable price you can get for a yorkie or maltese.

Do not fall for a "tea cup" scam, okay. No dog is registered as a "tea cup!". The smallest they go is the TOY GROUP. Some breeds have different size varieties like the poodle and the schnauzer but the Maltese and the Yorkshire terrier, do not! They are one size, 7 pounds or under. I researched before getting my yorkie..I’m glad I did I might have felled for a " tea cup" scam.
