How old do they both have to be?

Be aware that "teacups" are just runts and often have serious health issues. Not the best choice to use as a stud, to pass the problems on to his puppies….

I’ve been looking for a purebred Maltese puppy for a couple of weeks now and searched online for hours but never could find one. I’ve looked at newspapers but there wasn’t any Maltese puppies available. I would really like a reputable Maltese breeder around the New Mexico area.

I just got a female Maltese puppy and she is 6 months old, have never had a girl dog so I am in the dark here. Will she bleed much? She is an indoor dog are the dogie diapers you can get for her when this happens?

Generally, they will have their first heat at around 6 months. It lasts 3 weeks and she will go into heat twice a year unless she is spayed. Bleeding depends on the dog. Some bleed a lot, some don’t. There are pads you can get, but in no way will that keep her from mating and becoming pregnant, so you absolutely can not leave her outside unsupervised even for 30 seconds. A male can smell a female in heat up to a mile away and will stop at nothing to get to her. Spaying would be the best way to go. You won’t have to worry about pregnancies and it also cuts the risk of mammary and uterine cancer drastically.

So my pug is ten years old , she’s healthier than any other pug I’ve seen . A few weeks ago I found her mating with my neighboors dog . How do I know of she can have puppy’s or not?.

One: Pugs have really hard labor and deliveries, due to their respiratory problems

Two: Ten years of age is critically beyond the safe age for ANY dog to be bred and have puppies

Three: The worst thing that would be against your 10 year old Pug having pups is having a very clueless, ignorant breeder/owner trying to do something he/she knows nothing about to the extreme detriment of the dog.

You wanna kill her? Go ahead and breed her. And since the gestation is only 62 days, you need to take her to the vet to see if she is; and if so, abort/spay her ASAP!!!

Just lost my dog and it has been a while. My house is too quiet, and adopting a new pup would really liven up the atmosphere. I can spend a maximum of 300$ on a new pup, but I will only pick it up. I have tried navigating sites, but there difficult to understand, require registration and are usually from other states. Please help me find a good site for New Jersey, or maybe if you know someone that has one for sale?

$300 will not get you a healthy dog from a reputable breeder. I strongly encourage you to save a life and adopt. Shelters do regularly get purebred dogs and there are breed-specific rescues that you can look for if you are set on a pom.

I have had my 6 and 7 month old Pom puppies on Orijen for a couple of months, and they seem to be doing fine, but I have heard that it is too high in protein for them to on for any length of time. What would be better for them?

Nope high protein foods are good for dogs as long as the source is from meat, which in the case of Orijen it is. I feed my Chihuahua Orijen and Acana grain free and she is thriving.
