Does Orijen puppy food have too much protein for Pomeranian puppies?

I have had my 6 and 7 month old Pom puppies on Orijen for a couple of months, and they seem to be doing fine, but I have heard that it is too high in protein for them to on for any length of time. What would be better for them?

Nope high protein foods are good for dogs as long as the source is from meat, which in the case of Orijen it is. I feed my Chihuahua Orijen and Acana grain free and she is thriving.

A dog’s system is made to digest and use primarily meat proteins. The original studies that set off that whole ‘too much protein’ craze was done on rats, and has absolutely no relevance to a dog’s diet. Check out the Orijen White Paper online for some good information

Dogs are carnivores and they require meat protein. Dogs systems are made to digest meat proteins.
The protein should be meat protein.
