Where to get Pomeranian puppies in New Jersey?

Just lost my dog :( and it has been a while. My house is too quiet, and adopting a new pup would really liven up the atmosphere. I can spend a maximum of 300$ on a new pup, but I will only pick it up. I have tried navigating sites, but there difficult to understand, require registration and are usually from other states. Please help me find a good site for New Jersey, or maybe if you know someone that has one for sale?

$300 will not get you a healthy dog from a reputable breeder. I strongly encourage you to save a life and adopt. Shelters do regularly get purebred dogs and there are breed-specific rescues that you can look for if you are set on a pom.

If you are open to a slightly older dog, but still young, here are some great options:

New Jersey does not have a pomeranian rescue group, but there are ones in neighboring states you may want to look into. This site may be of some help:

  1. Go to the pound and adopt a poor animal so it will not be euthanized.

  2. You will not find a healthy Pomeranian puppy for $300. If you want to save and purchase a quality dog, take a look at the member listing for the American Pomeranian Club: http://www.americanpomeranianclub.org/member_roster.htm Otherwise, what is in your budget is to adopt from a shelter or rescue, and I’d start by looking here: http://www.petfinder.com/index.html However, it’s unlikely you will find a younger puppy. Adults would be far more common in rescue.

If you want a well bred Pom from a proper breeder, you are going to be spending much more than $300.
But paying more then may save you money in the long run as a well bred dog will have proper health testing done which a BYBd one will not.

Here is the breeder referral for the American Pomeranian Club: http://www.americanpomeranianclub.org/breeder_referral.htm

Another option would be to check your local shelters.
You will likely be paying less than the expected $300 this way, and will be "saving a life"

  5. Go to the AKC parent club: http://www.AmericanPomeranianClub.org. Not going to find a decently bred Pom for $300.00.
