My pug puppies are way too warm, I need to cool the room down. Fast!?
My pug Daisy just had puppies, they’re about a week old now.
My sister let the room get up tp 93 degrees and my mom said to keep it at 80-85 degrees.
What is the fastest way I can cool down the room?
I have the fan on and the windows open, it’s also on the 2nd floor and I can’t move the babies downstairs.
Here in Painesville it is 71 degrees outside right now.
Unless you have air conditioning that is all you can really do right now.

Take them outside and let them rest in the shade. It is obviously cooler outside that it is in your house. Just make sure you lay them in an area that is well ventilated.

The best way to cool a room involves some sort of a cross breeze. See if you can’t open up rooms and windows across the hall.
Also, if you put a bucket of ice, or a cooler of ice in front of a fan it will cool very quickly.

Turn on the AC
Put out more than one fan
Put out bowls of ice water to cool the air

That is way too hot for mom and pups. You need to take them out of the room until it has cooled off. Open windows, blow fans, anything. Put the pups on a blanket/towel inside a box or a laundry basket and bring the box/basket to a cooler room or sit outside with them for awhile. If you go outside, do not let the pups out of the box/basket. They are too susceptible to catching things at their young age. Just get those puppies cooled off.

As any reputable breeder will tell you, chilling is the single greatest danger to newborns! Your mom is right about keeping the temp. at 85 for the first week. Second week it is reduced to 80 degrees, then reduced GRADUALLY until by 6 weeks, the puppies are at 70 degrees.
If these puppies get a chill from open windows, being outside or any other idiotic thing, they will get sick and/or die. The temp. should now be 80 degrees.

Put them in a laundry basket & just move them to another room until the room with the whelping box has cooled down. Check them all for dehydration by pinching the skin on the backs of their necks. If it falls back down, they’ll be fine. If not, their place is at a vet

a faster way would be to put a wet bag or a wet cloth/mattress underneath the puppies, it should cool them down
or give them some water to drink frequently (only if they are old enough to consume something else than their mother’s milk)
and if the wet bag does not cool them down turn on a fan or the air conditioner with it.
remember: don’t go crazy with the wet mattress because puppies get hot and cold really quickly
if you think they might have fever, consult a vet
hope this helps
