Actualy the white …
Actualy the white coat was never a “defect”. It’s a recessive trait. The common black and tan gsd’s all have a heterozygote trait. Somehow people managed to completely obliterate the white recessive trait in common gsd’s. I agree with you about the show dog people. Alot of them actually care about their dogs, but alot of them treat them as objects.

actually u could argue the show dog people arent very animal friendly they care more about how the dog looks than loving the dog as your friend my white sheppherds would fight a lion for me its cause they know i would for them they are my babys

actually akc recognizes white gsd i know i have 4 of them white sheppherds are a totally different breed akc recently started recognizing them as its been proven with tests the white coat is nop defect like in other dogs who cam be white and the first gsd was infact white

Similarly I’d be worried about people looking for ‘cheap’ dogs. no dog is ‘cheap’. Are those particular people going to have or want to put out money for the resources, vet, food, worming, shelter, training etc if they’re not willing to spend much on a dog?
A puppy needs as much care as a baby. A dog needs love and respect like a person. It makes me think that some people can neglect or abandon something that should be considered a family member.

Great work -yes …
Great work -yes lets “sell” loads more GS pups to owners who have the money. What about the hundreds of others awaiting a loving home in shelters all across the USA. Have a little thought for all those dogs who need a home and dont cost anything. It worries me greatly when i see “my mom and I are looking for cheap dogs” When all this backlog is cleared – then why not start selling more dogs to idiots who’ve got money but hardly any sense and then get bored with them and dump them in a shelter
