Be gentle and don’t frighten her. Water temp should be mildly warm to touch but not hot. Human products should not be used on your dog (or cat) and normally only bath once every 3-4 wks. Weekly bathing can cause more skin issues unless your pet is under a vet’s care and they have instructed otherwise.

Newborn puppies …
Newborn puppies should never be given a bath, the mother will clean the babies.
As puppies mature, larger breeds can be bathed as early as 8 wks and only if necessary. The very tiny breeds I would not recommend earlier than 3 mths.
They need to be dried, kept out of drafts and in a warm place until completely dry.
Weekly baths are not recommended unless instructed by your vet for a medical reason.

Your vet can recommend a good doggie shampoo. I use the Efa Hy-Lyt brand or the Natural Espree brand. Both can be found on the net.

…keep rinsing the eyes with water if that should happen again; you can use the wash cloth and keep soaking it with fresh water. Also remember not to use human shampoo on your dog, but a good safe dog product that is fitting for his skin and coat type will be much better.
