Houdini Puppy Escapes Crate
Our Yorkie puppy kept escaping from her crate and we couldn’t figure out how.
So we set up a camera and went for dinner. when we came back this is what we saw…

@lygophile apparently anything a dogs head can get through, its body can also get through. There ribs are very flexible, I’d be worried about him getting stuck half way.

You do realise crate training is helpful in the house training process, makes travel convenient, and also keeps the dog out of dangerous situations (puppies put everything in their mouths, stairs, etc) when it can’t be supervised, right?

She is a delightful …
She is a delightful little puppy. I am so pleased to read that she does not get put into a cage any more.

Actually to “crate …
Actually to “crate train” a dog the Crate should be large enough that the animal can stand up, sleep, and turn around in. But NOT POOP. That’s how they learn to not poop in the house.
Regardless you will be happy to know that after a few weeks of crate training Kiwi learned the rules and she now has free roam of the house.

That’s how a lot of dogs trained as puppies not to tear up the house and go crazy when the humans are gone until he/she knows they’ll be sure to come back. Don’t worry she’s probably not spending too much time in there
