how do teacup puppies come about? are they smaller then a chihuahua?

dont this puppies grow big in size and remain relatively small like a rabbit? where do i get them?

When byb’s started to make sick puppies they started making "runts" and very small dogs then to make them selves more money they made up a new breed "TEA-CUP"- no such breed! And think of it this was all just for them!

If you want more information you could ask a vet , pet behaviourist any one on here or go to google and type in teacup breeds!

gOOD LUCK ^_^

They come about from breeders who breed dogs that are smaller than breed standard resulting in highly desirable sickly frail dogs. Anyone who says they have teacups is a bad breeder. Get a standard sized dog and avoid a lot of grief.

Few tea cups are smaller than the deer type chihuahuas but you can get teacup poodles and some small- really small yorkies of course the yorkies range from $500 to $1500 apiece – poodles range $400 and up.
unpapered chihuahuas can start as low as $125 – all the way up to $700.
Happy shopping, big hug menome b

There is no such thing as a teacup puppy. It is a term used by irresponsible, uneducated breeders to put a high price tag on a particulaty small (often unhealthy) runt of the litter. Run away from anyone who uses that term.

There is no such breed as a tea-cup puppy in the american/canadian kennel club registery. Tea-cup puppies weigh less than 5 lbs. They come about from inbreeding in there genetic bloodelines…brother and sister. They continue to inbreed until a tiny puppy is given. Any type of tea-cup dog will have serious health problems down the road. They also live a very short life (5-6 yrs) due to health problems.

They came about by puppy mills who created a smaller, sickly, unhealthy version of the Chihuahua. Back yard breeders followed suit and started breeding these dogs after they began to buy them not spayed and neutered at pet shops, just so they could have more money to spend on new TVs, small beer fridges, recliners, and whatever they want in their old, little houses.
Never buy a dog advertised as a "teacup", that will encourage the puppy mills and back yard breeders to continue what they do, and will cost you a fortune in vet bills down the road.
